As the popularity of yoga continues to grow in the West, we realize a developing need for heart-led, passionate, mature, and intelligent instruction. The Tribe Yoga Leadership Academy is our offering for students who are looking to more fully understand the complexities of the practice, who wish to deepen their own practice and explore their true potential, and who are considering teaching.
Tribe Yoga Leadership Academy

Our 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Program
Students will study, in-depth, proper teaching techniques, asana, anatomy, safety, sequencing, history, and philosophy. The Ashtanga Primary Series will be the foundation for the training, along with a focused study in Yin Yoga.
In addition, and what makes Tribe a little different than most YTT programs, students can expect expanded opportunities to develop their unique voice, establish service/leadership skills, and explore their goals for sharing this beautiful, complex, healing practice with their communities. Students can expect to experience transformative growth throughout the duration of the program, and are expected to participate in active, ongoing self-reflection and self-monitoring.
This program strives to create leaders in the community; practitioners and teachers with a deep understanding of the practice as a whole, as well as an aptitude and desire for taking yoga "off the mat" and into daily life. Students will be encouraged to seek awareness of their own special gifts that may enhance their programs and bring unique value to a class or their own practice.
If you are ready to step into your power, develop tools for living your best life, and extend those tools to others around you, this is the program for you.

Meet the Teachers

Shannon Schwartz
Shannon found yoga a few years ago after wandering into a hot vinyasa class out of curiosity. She realized how intense the practice was and continued to go back, in the hopes of getting better. While she was in the class, she noticed that the instructor would speak about philosophical teachings from ancient religions, or modern day philosophers. Shannon has already been working on spiritual growth outside of the class, and started to realize yoga was more than a fitness workout. At that point she starting to fall in love with the practice. Shannon was able to recently complete her 200-hr YTT at Tribe, and is currently working on becoming a reiki master.
When Shannon is not on the mat, she is often spending time with loved ones, and working full-time as a registered dietitian. She commutes most weekends from Philadelphia to Lehigh Valley, and enjoys listening to podcasts and books on spiritual development.

Tori DePaulo
Tori is a teacher by nature and profession. When she’s not at the studio you can find her teaching high school English, near the water, reading a book, or spending time with her favorite people.
Tori was introduced to yoga at a young age, but subsequently discovered the traditional practice of Ashtanga through Stacy at tribe and immediately fell in love with it. She completed her 200 hour YTT at Tribe Yoga Leadership Academy in 2019 and loves being able to dive deeper into the practice and share it with others. She is passionate about learning and excited to pursue advanced yoga studies as she continues her yoga journey.
Her friends would describe her as a hardworking but silly girl who’s passionate and carries a hearty laugh. Tori loves connecting with people and being part of a community. Come practice with her if you’re looking to work hard and have fun, all while listening to some upbeat tunes and growing together.
