As the popularity of yoga continues to grow in the West, we realize a developing need for heart-led, passionate, mature, and intelligent instruction. The Tribe Yoga Leadership Academy is our offering for students who are looking to more fully understand the complexities of the practice, who wish to deepen their own practice and explore their true potential, and who are considering teaching.

Our 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Program

Students will study, in-depth, proper teaching techniques, asana, anatomy, safety, sequencing, history, and philosophy. The Ashtanga Primary Series will be the foundation for the training, along with a focused study in Yin Yoga.

In addition, and what makes Tribe a little different than most YTT programs, students can expect expanded opportunities to develop their unique voice, establish service/leadership skills, and explore their goals for sharing this beautiful, complex, healing practice with their communities. Students can expect to experience transformative growth throughout the duration of the program, and are expected to participate in active, ongoing self-reflection and self-monitoring.

This program strives to create leaders in the community; practitioners and teachers with a deep understanding of the practice as a whole, as well as an aptitude and desire for taking yoga "off the mat" and into daily life. Students will be encouraged to seek awareness of their own special gifts that may enhance their programs and bring unique value to a class or their own practice.

If you are ready to step into your power, develop tools for living your best life, and extend those tools to others around you, this is the program for you.

Stacy Hein
As a yoga teacher and co-founder of Tribe Yoga, Stacy's ultimate goal is to create a safe haven for students and seekers of all ages, abilities, backgrounds, and interests. Always a student herself, her greatest joy is learning and growing along with her classes—openly sharing her own experiences, struggles, and discoveries with honesty, humor, and authenticity.

Trained in Ashtanga-Vinyasa yoga, Yin yoga, and Kundalini yoga, Stacy brings a background of both group instruction and one-on-one teaching experience to her classes. Stacy has taught at retreats, created and taught many continuing education programs, yoga teacher trainings, and workshops and sessions of multiple types. E-RYT 200 and YACEP approved by Yoga Alliance, Stacy's dedication to constant study and discipline in her own practice has enabled her to lead groups and individuals to advanced levels of learning and personal and spiritual growth through the practices of yoga and meditation. Her teaching style is a union of her passion for words and her love of the discipline, rhythm, and magic of yoga. Students can expect to encounter a blend of meditation, breath work, spirituality and movement in her classes that is carefully designed to open the heart, quiet the mind, and motivate each unique soul toward fearless self-exploration and awareness—both on and off the mat.

Tori DePaulo
Tori is a teacher by nature and profession. When she’s not at the studio you can find her teaching high school English, near the water, reading a book, or spending time with her favorite people.

Tori was introduced to yoga at a young age, but subsequently discovered the traditional practice of Ashtanga through Stacy at tribe and immediately fell in love with it. She completed her 200 hour YTT at Tribe Yoga Leadership Academy in 2019 and loves being able to dive deeper into the practice and share it with others. She is passionate about learning and excited to pursue advanced yoga studies as she continues her yoga journey.

Her friends would describe her as a hardworking but silly girl who’s passionate and carries a hearty laugh. Tori loves connecting with people and being part of a community. Come practice with her if you’re looking to work hard and have fun, all while listening to some upbeat tunes and growing together.

Everyday Meditation and Mindfulness
Practical Tools for Your Journey
with Stacy Hein, E-RYT 200, Reiki Master/Teacher

Attention teachers and seekers: let's gather. It's time to demystify the practices of meditation and mindfulness. It's time to make these tools accessible, practical, and usable for all. Join Stacy for a day of exploration, study, and experience. Gain an understanding of the wondrous simplicity of these tools—and even more importantly, an understanding of the benefits they carry.

This 6-hour workshop is designed to help you bolster your own practice and will offer guidance on how to lead others to that same place. Ideal for yoga teachers looking to incorporate more mindfulness and meditation into their classes, but also appropriate for anyone who wishes to learn more for personal growth.

We will be exploring multiple styles of meditation, pranayama (breath work exercises), mantra and mudra, mindfulness of the Buddhist tradition, and how to incorporate each of these tools into your own practice as well as how to share them with others.

Yoga Zen - Level 1
Yin Yoga Training Program

with Stacy Hein, E-RYT 200, Reiki Master/Teacher

Yin Yoga is a very meditative, soothing, slow-paced style of yoga. Different from its yang-style counterparts, Yin strives to work the connective tissues of the body rather than engaging muscles, resulting in a cooling, soothing practice. Poses are held typically from 1 - 8 minutes, with long periods of quiet for an overall meditative, introspective, and relaxing experience.

Students taking this course will learn the foundational elements of creating and leading a yin yoga class (or their own practice), including all 24 basic yin poses with variations, the use of props, appropriate timing and sequencing, breath work, elements of meditation, and a basic understanding of the subtle energy body, energy channels, and associated chakra system. Elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine will be explored.

This workshop is appropriate for yoga teachers or students with some yoga knowledge who are looking to deepen and expand their yoga practice. 15 CEU contact hours available through Yoga Alliance.
