As the popularity of yoga continues to grow in the West, we realize a developing need for heart-led, passionate, mature, and intelligent instruction. The Tribe Yoga Leadership Academy is our offering for students who are looking to more fully understand the complexities of the practice, who wish to deepen their own practice and explore their true potential, and who are considering teaching.
Tribe Yoga Leadership Academy
Our 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Program
Students will study, in-depth, proper teaching techniques, asana, anatomy, safety, sequencing, history, and philosophy. The Ashtanga Primary Series will be the foundation for the training, along with a focused study in Yin Yoga.
In addition, and what makes Tribe a little different than most YTT programs, students can expect expanded opportunities to develop their unique voice, establish service/leadership skills, and explore their goals for sharing this beautiful, complex, healing practice with their communities. Students can expect to experience transformative growth throughout the duration of the program, and are expected to participate in active, ongoing self-reflection and self-monitoring.
This program strives to create leaders in the community; practitioners and teachers with a deep understanding of the practice as a whole, as well as an aptitude and desire for taking yoga "off the mat" and into daily life. Students will be encouraged to seek awareness of their own special gifts that may enhance their programs and bring unique value to a class or their own practice.
If you are ready to step into your power, develop tools for living your best life, and extend those tools to others around you, this is the program for you.

Meet the Teachers
Shannon Schwartz
Shannon found yoga after wandering into a hot vinyasa class out of curiosity. She realized how intense the practice was and continued to go back, in the hopes of getting better. While she was in the class, she noticed that the instructor would speak about philosophical teachings from ancient religions, or modern day philosophers. Shannon has already been working on spiritual growth outside of the class, and started to realize yoga was more than a fitness workout. At that point she started to fall in love with the practice. Shannon completed her 200-hr YTT at Tribe, and also her reiki attunements. When Shannon is not on the mat, you can find her at home with her family, out in nature, or working on her other passion as a licensed registered dietitian.
Shannon believes the practice of yoga offers many benefits such as deeper self-awareness, clarity, and inner peace. Shannon is grateful for the opportunity to lead classes and teacher trainings and be a witness to the gifts the practice provides.
“When the mind is calm, how quickly, how smoothly, how beautifully you will perceive everything.” -Paramahansa Yogananda

Tori DePaulo
Tori is a teacher by nature and profession. When she's not at the yoga studio, you can find her teaching secondary English, creating art, or hanging out by the water with a good book.
She was introduced to yoga at a young age, but subsequently discovered the traditional practice of Ashtanga through Stacy Hein at Tribe and fell in love with it. She completed her 200-hour YTT at Tribe Yoga Leadership Academy in 2019, studied to become a Reiki Master with Stacy, and completed her 500-hour YTT in 2022.
While passionate about advanced yoga studies, exploring philosophy, and kick ass music to practice to, Tori seeks to share the means to a balanced practice and mindfulness while cultivating community.
