The Event:
Our YTT crew has been hard at work to create a day of community, practice, and giving - our first ever Holiday Heal-a-Thon. This day will include a variety of short practice sessions including multiple styles of yoga, meditation, pranayama, and MELT Method. Attend all day, or come when convenient for you. All attendance is donation-based (give what you can) and all proceeds will directly benefit a family in need this holiday season.

About the Cause:
Our group has decided to adopt a family in need to receive all proceeds from this event. This family is adopted through the Kisses for Kyle Foundation - an organization that assists families facing the challenges and heartache of childhood cancer.
We have been assigned a family in need of support to be able to give their children a happy and normal holiday.

Meet Angel and His Family:
Angel is a 12 year old boy who recently suffered a relapse in his illness. Three weeks ago during routine blood tests it was discovered that Angel had relapsed. His stepfather is on medical leave due to an injury at work. His mother is seven months pregnant and worried that the stress of Angel's latest admission for 30 days of treatment will result in premature birth for this new baby. Mom is at Angel's bedside every day and his stepfather helps Angel and his brother relax and laugh through all struggles.
These parents are very relieved to know they will be receiving help from our studio community this holiday season. We have a list of holiday gift requests for Angel and his brother Michael, who is five years old and also directly affected by his brother's illness. There is also a request for gift cards for diapers to lighten the ongoing financial struggle, or we an also provide diapers.

Ways to Help:
We have established multiple ways to help. The Holiday Heal-a-Thon is our main event, which offers the opportunity to come together for the purpose of helping others. Donations will be accepted all day at the studio as you come to attend practice sessions.
Giving Tree:
Also, we will be setting up a "Giving Tree" where you can select a tag from the branches to purchase a specific gift from the wish list provided by the family. Please check out second floor lobby - coming soon - for the tree and please let a teacher know if you've taken a tag from the branches. Gifts can be returned to the studio unwrapped at any time prior to December 10th.
